Examples of acquired communication disorders include:
Aphasia- affects a person’s ability to use or understand language. Common causes of aphasia include stroke, trauma, or other brain disorders
Dysarthria- slow or slurred speech due to weak muscles. Most commonly caused by neurological disorders
Acquired Apraxia of speech- a motor speech disorder. Most commonly caused by brain injury or disease.
Cognitive disorders, including difficulty with memory, planning, focus, and attention
